Science at Appleby

Honors Science Research Students also visited Appleby to lead hands-on science presentations and learning activities for third grade students. Student groups were responsible for reviewing the curriculum and designing experiments that align with state standards. Students explored ways to make the labs reusable and meaningful for the learners. They developed worksheets that assessed pre lab knowledge, recorded observations, and had students use this knowledge to draw conclusions. The presentations included activities aimed at understanding magnetism, electricity, states of matter, landforms and erosion, and properties of light.
