Learning about Classroom Communities and Growth Mindsets

The first few weeks of school have been all about connecting, building relationships, and growing together in Mrs. Cantora and Mrs. Falzon’s classroom! They read Our Class Is a Family and talked about what it means to be part of a classroom family. Students shared their thoughts and wrote down the expectations they have for one another as they create a classroom community built on kindness, respect, support, and teamwork.

They also explored the power of a growth mindset through The Magical Yet! Students wrote letters to their future selves, reflecting on the things they hope to learn and accomplish throughout the school year. To remind them that growth takes time and that we can accomplish so much when we put our minds to it, they created their very own Magical Yet color-changing bracelets! Just like the color-changing beads, students learned that they can grow too! Something that feels difficult today may become something we can do tomorrow with practice, patience, and perseverance.
