Special Services

The Department of Special Services is responsible for ensuring that all students receive the support and services needed to access their education. Services are individualized based on student needs and developed through the work of the Child Study Team in collaboration with staff and families.

The district provides a continuum of programs and services, including in-class support, pull-out resource programs, self-contained classes, and out-of-district placements when appropriate. Related services may include speech and language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, adaptive physical education, and supported employment.

The department also serves as a resource to school personnel in supporting student learning and development, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialists and service providers to meet the needs of each student.
